ABCD 2.06 as standard for data publication with GFBio consensus elements and GFBio use case
The GFBio initiative agreed to have the following ABCD 2.06 core elements as mandatory or recommended for datasets with biodiversity occurrence data, see wiki representation of ABCD 2.06.
All biodiversity & collection datasets to be published via the GFBio portal have to deliver information which is transformed to Pansimple and processed for the GFBio harvesting tool. The table below lists the elements for dissemination of "datasets" with "data records (= units)" structured according to ABCD. The document will be extended within the next years and modified following new ratified versions of ABCD, e.g. ABCD 3.0.
The GFBio controlled vocabularies for Kingdom (=Regnum) and RecordBasis are provided by the API of the GFBio Terminology Service.

| Elements in pale red are highly recommended and are mapped by the data centers (using the BioCASe provider software). They are normally included in quality datasets for GFBio dissemination. In some cases, however, the content might not exist or be irrelevant and can be omitted. |
